Last week, Irving who has recently recovered from a back injury took some time to DIY a knockbox for his spent coffee pucks.
DIY Knockbox
Here are the list of materials needed:
- Swordman plastic container
- Handle of a cheap pine-wood spatula (Spatula costs about RM3 from pasar malam).
- Rubber tube from a car door edge bumper – Irving replaced his for RM6.90 (for 4), and he then used the old one for the knockbox. So you can say it’s RM1.75 for this.
All this DIY will costs you less than RM10 and some spare time.

You can see that the knockbox is suitable for home use. If you need bigger knockbox, try getting a bigger container or the big, blue Mayonnaise square tub.
Bristot Espress Cups
He also got himself a pair of thick-walled Bristot espresso cups from ETC in the Curve shopping complex at Mutiara Damansara. He paid RM21.60 for the cups and prefers them over Coffex cups (RM18) and overly-priced Elektra cups. And also, it is definitely cheaper than those Illy cups.
