Today, coffee bloggers like KF Chan & I were invited to Caffeinees’s pre-launch to try on their new coffee.

From what KF Chan told me, this place used to be his favourite place & has been opened for at least 2 years.

As you can note from the banner outside the shop, Coffee Month is coming up. And this place does latte art.

I quite liked the interior. For me, it is simple but relaxing.
As there was only both of us and the event was delayed to 3pm, both of us ordered sandwiches as I haven’t taken my lunch.
The menu was quite extensive & Chan recommended me their burger to try. But since I saw BLT on the menu, I ordered that. FYI, BLT stands for Bacon, Lettuce & Tomato if you are wondering what is BLT.
We were also served a cappuccino and rose cappucino while waiting for our sandwiches. The coffees today were on the house. So KUDOS to Caffeinees.

The sandwich is nice except the dressing was not enough. With more dressing in the sandwich & the salad, it will be much better & not so dry while eating.
Soon Chris, the boss of the Caffeinees arrived and chatted with Chan & I on the coffee & food.

After our lunch, we were served 2 new iced drinks. 1 a Iced Latte (with coffee ice cubes, so you won’t feel the coffee taste is diluting before you finish the glass) and the other is Iced Java coffee with coffee powder.

The Iced latte is smooth and very refreshing. Both Chan & I feel it should be slight sweeten with some syrup and little bit cooler.
On the other Iced Java coffee, I am not so keen on adding in the coffee powder as it is very powdery during drinking and not many customers will like it. Probably can be replaced with Chocolat Oreo crushed biscuits instead.

Soon we were onto the hands-on where KF Chan & I take turns to play with the La Scala 2 grouphead commercial machine. I free poured a rosetta on a capp and did an etching on the other capp.

I did brought my LM naked portafilter & my toolbox. So we can see the problems in the shot.
I really like the hands-on session as I am able to change thoughts with others on improving my techniques.
The day ends just before 6 in the evening as we shared a lot. I believe this place can be a proper place where we coffee enthusiasts can meet around and have a barista jam occasionally, rather than our homes.
FYI, Chris had worked before at Campos, Australia for 9 months and that was the time he was interested in the craft of barista.
