11/07/09 – “The Pursuit of Happiness”, the Star Interview with Moses Chan – Read this to know how Moses Chan started to love coffee & how he get TVB to agree to film this coffee show.

If you have Astro at home or you are a myFM listener, you should know that Moses Chan is a famous HK TVB celebrity & the host of a currently airing TVB programme titled “Coffee Confidential”.

After watching 3 episodes out of this programme, I think it is very good as it showcases the true story of coffee & educates the public of what it can really be.

But something happened even better, courtesy of KF Chan & Astro. Astro managed to organize a Coffee Forum with the presence of Moses Chan himself and Chan had the priviledge of being a panel.

I am so envy but very grateful that he invited me & Irving to attend this forum at Berjaya University College of Hospitailty @ Times Square.

The emcee of the day is Vivian from myFM & the panelists are Moses Chan (HK TVB artiste), KF Chan (coffee blogger) & Ms Sum Leong (a cafe owner in Shaw Parade, Pudu @ KL).

Is it worth to be the most expensive coffee in the world? May be but only when it is properly made & fresh. It was stale, not clean & sluggy. Look around the cup, can you see the oils are so rancid. Probably the beans have been left for some time. Luckily, Moses Chan did not taste this!

Moses Chan & KF Chan was later asked to demonstrate the espresso & cappuccino on the LM. But the attention is all on Moses Chan. Hahahahahha, that is life as celebrity.

He is a real barista, better than any Starbucks barista in the country. Dose, Distribute, Tamp & Lock.

He must have learn lot more from the professional baristas that he met in the programme. The tamper he used was my Impod tamper, recommended by Mark Prince in his CoffeeKid website.

Finally, after some rounds of making, Moses poured a very beautiful latte art. What a star!

At the end of the show, I even managed to get Moses Chan to sign me an autograph on the first page of my Professional Barista Handbook by Scott Rao.

Unfortunately, I did not get a picture with him as he is rushed to interview again in another room with KF Chan.

But hey, we did take a group picture together with Moses Chan. I am the guy at the most right.
